'Community Spirit Starts With The Young - Every Community Should Have A Playground'

Kimpergill Willy wrote these songs inspired by our Dale, it’s history, communities and natural beauty because we feel privileged to live here.

Having created the music it felt right to support our local community in some way.

We approached Grassington Parish Council and asked if they required fund raising for any outstanding community project. They told us that the playground was in need of refurbishment which would cost around £78,000 and so far had only raised a fraction of that amount.

We feel very strongly about the importance of a safe playground for our children to play together. After all, real community spirit surely starts with the young.

A lot of visitors use our playground so wear and tear is substantially increased. The Parish Council receives no revenue from tourism as all the car park revenue goes to the National Parks.

We have made these songs available on CD and download in the hope that we can raise some money but also to raise awareness of the plight of the playground.

We are giving all the profits to the playground appeal until the target figure of £78,000 is reached. Whilst the Parish Council are endeavouring to acquire money from grants and other avenues, extra funding is desperately needed.

We would like to thank Jennie Routley at Jennie Routley Design for creating and donating this website for the cause.

We would also like to thank the following Grassington outlets where the CD’s are available to buy:
